Keep recoverable taxes separate from true project cost where your adviser confirms that treatment.
Normalize the Scope Before Comparing Prices
Two quotes are only comparable when they use the same dimensions, material grade, finish, hardware, packaging, spare-parts allowance, Incoterm and quantity. Ask each supplier to show exclusions and quotation validity. For made-to-order products, include drawing revision, tooling and mock-up costs.
Factory Direct Does Not Remove Procurement Risk
Buying directly can reduce commercial layers, but the buyer still needs sample approval, production follow-up, QC evidence and shipment coordination. A low EXW or FOB figure can become expensive if cartons fail, replacement pieces are unavailable or several factories finish at different times.

What information is needed for a useful landed-cost estimate?
Provide the BOQ, product dimensions, estimated packed volume and weight, supplier locations, destination and preferred delivery basis. Submit those inputs for a project estimate.
Use Landed Cost for Whole Material Packages
Factory price and landed cost should be compared at package level when a project is sourcing tiles, sanitaryware, cabinets, windows, doors, lighting or flooring together. One supplier may look cheaper on unit price but create a second shipment, weaker packing plan or higher replacement risk.
